Comedian Yoon Hyung-bin Offers Heartfelt Advice to Aspiring Performers on 'Wangbiho's One Punch Man'

In a video released on the YouTube channel 'Wang Bi-ho's One Punch Man' on the 15th, Yoon Hyung-bin gave a lecture to aspiring comedians. When trainees asked about his income during his peak years during the lecture, Yoon replied, "When I was doing really well, I think I earned more than 1 billion won," while mentioning the periods of patience hidden behind those flashy numbers.

He continued, "Aspiring entertainers hold too many grand illusions from the start. They imagine that becoming a celebrity naturally means earning a lot, but once you actually debut and appear on TV, the reality is much less than that," emphasizing that significant profits only follow once a career is built step by step.

"Chasing immediate gigs means losing opportunities to build up"

Yoon Hyung-bin identified the 'pursuit of short-term profit' as the reason for the current stagnation in the comedy industry. His diagnosis is that the tendency to give up opportunities to build long-term careers for the sake of immediate profit is hindering the growth of the industry.

In fact, Yoon used his own career as an example to explain the importance of 'building up.' He recalled that even during his peak years when he was active as the 'Wang Bi-ho' character, high immediate profits were not guaranteed, and it was only after 3 to 4 years of activity that he could begin to earn significant income.

After solidifying his position by appearing in numerous programs such as 'Gag Concert' and 'Qualifications of Men,' he increased his workload by handling 5 to 6 programs simultaneously, creating a virtuous cycle that generated steady event and advertising revenue.

Yoon advised his juniors, saying, "Don't just focus on money, money, money. If you chase the money right in front of you, you cannot go big. That is a real fact," encouraging them to focus on developing their own capabilities.
