Shin Gi-ru Thanks Fans for Handwritten Letters After Mother's Death
Broadcaster Shin Gi-ru shared handwritten letters from fans on social media after losing her mother. She also opened up about grief on Rolling Thunder and thanked supporters for giving her strength.
Broadcaster Shin Gi-ru expressed her gratitude for the handwritten letters sent by fans amidst the sense of loss following the passing of her mother. On the 5th, Shin Gi-ru shared her feelings by posting photos of handwritten letters written by fans on her SNS account.

The revealed letters contained the affection of fans for Shin Gi-ru. Fans wrote, “Giru unnie, who performs magic to make people's days lighter,” “Giru unnie, who shares energy as much as a mine dump truck,” “There are so many people around who love every side of you,” “Please stay by our side for a long time, staying healthy like you are now,” and “There is no one to replace your position.”

Shin Gi-ru also honestly revealed her feelings while reading the letters. She expressed her still-heavy heart, saying, “Even though a long dark night has passed, my heart does not easily brighten, as if it doesn't know morning has come, so I am once again at a loss because I feel sorry for myself.”
Shin Gi-ru's mother passed away on March 17 at the age of 68.
She did not lose her characteristic wit. Shin Gi-ru wrote, “While dealing with my morning bowel movement, I read through the letter written by Heot-ttung-ttung-i not long ago, and I flushed away both the darkness and the stool.” She continued, “There is strength in the words spoken to me, and there is light in the hearts I received. I should follow those hearts that shine on me and do well today as well,” adding a message of thanks: “I am truly grateful to everyone who likes me.” At the end, she added, “I lay down to sleep and suddenly!! Oops... I sat down to poop and suddenly!! I confessed because I was so thankful, Gi-ru.”
Daily life after her mother's death shared on 'Rolling Thunder'
Shin Gi-ru also recently confessed her difficult daily life after losing her mother on the channel 'Rolling Thunder.' She said she is going through a time where it is difficult to control her emotional fluctuations, saying, “I laugh and then suddenly cry, and when I cry, I lose moisture and feel hungry, so I eat. Then I cry again.”
She also expressed regret regarding her final moments with her mother. Shin Gi-ru shed tears, saying, “I didn't know she would leave so quickly. Every moment is a regret. When I think about it, there is nothing but regret. I couldn't talk much toward the end. I only saw her briefly, saying I was busy.”
Broadcasting activities since debut in 2005
Shin Gi-ru debuted in 2005 through KBS2 'Laughter Club' and began her activities after being selected as a special recruitment comedian for SBS in 2007. In 2019, she married a non-celebrity who is one year older. Passing through great sadness, she left a message of gratitude, saying she will walk again today by leaning on the hearts offered by her fans.
