Shin Gi-ru's unique dating standards: "I've dated 60 times"

Comedian Shin Gi-ru revealed her unique philosophy on dating. Appearing on KBS2's 'Malja Show' on the 13th, Shin Gi-ru, a veteran comedian of 21 years, introduced herself as a "dating expert."

Shin Gi-ru Reveals Hilarious One-Sided Romance with Comedian Yang Bae-cha on KBS2 'Malja Show'

During the broadcast, Shin Gi-ru dropped a bombshell, claiming she has dated a whopping 60 times. Her close friend of 20 years, Kim Yeong-hui, jokingly questioned whether she meant eating 60 meals rather than dating 60 times, but Shin Gi-ru's conviction remained unshaken. "Loving someone alone is still loving," she explained, clarifying her standards: simply going out for a meal or taking a late-night phone call counts as dating in her book.

8 confessions and Yang Bae-cha's firm rejection

The most poignant memory Shin Gi-ru shared was her feelings for her junior, Yang Bae-cha. She confessed her feelings to Yang Bae-cha, who is six years younger, eight different times, but was rejected every single time. Shin Gi-ru revealed that Yang Bae-cha once told her, "Senior, everything is great, but I won't accept your heart."

The rejection wasn't just verbal. The day after one of her confessions, Shin Gi-ru heard that Yang Bae-cha had been hospitalized and went to visit with porridge. However, Yang Bae-cha simply took the porridge, and when Shin Gi-ru offered to personally nurse him back to health, he showed his resolve by moving to an entirely different hospital room. Shin Gi-ru confessed that this incident left her emotionally distressed for three days.

A nostalgic reunion ends in a 'Perilla Oil Business' promotion twist

A recent anecdote involving a contact from Yang Bae-cha after all this time was a series of unexpected twists. Yang Bae-cha reportedly reminisced about the past, telling Shin Gi-ru, "If I could go back to that time, I might have liked you. No one treated me as well as you did."

Shin Gi-ru then exposed the absurd follow-up: after Yang Bae-cha opened with those nostalgic words, he ultimately asked her to promote his newly started perilla oil business on her SNS. Leaving behind the emptiness of her unrequited love, Shin Gi-ru concluded the story by saying, "Still, it's a memory of our fresh, young days."
