Intense Communication with Fans After an 8-Year Wait

Singer-songwriter Roy Kim sat down with his fans for the first time in approximately eight years. The fan-meeting 'THE ROY KIM SHOW: Speaking, Listening, Singing,' held over two days on the 11th and 12th at the Blue Square Woori WON Banking Hall in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, confirmed the unwavering support of his fans as all three scheduled performances were completely sold out.

Rather than focusing on flashy stage production, this fan-meeting concentrated on deep connection with the fans. Preparing for the event, Roy Kim shared, "It has been a very long time since my last fan-meeting, so I thought a lot and prepared extensively because I wanted to provide a different kind of joy compared to a concert." He expressed his gratitude simply toward the fans who have stayed by his side since his debut, saying, "I have been able to sing until now thanks to the fans who have supported me unchangingly since my debut."

'Speaking and Listening' Segments Filled with Questions and Games

The performance opened with "The Moon of Seoul," featuring Roy Kim's signature tone. The setlist varied for each session, selecting one song from "Selfishness Warning," "WE GO HIGH," or "Why Are You Like This" to present a different configuration every time.

Communication segments designed to close the distance with fans followed. In the "Speaking: Ask Me Anything" segment, Roy Kim personally answered questions left by fans, sharing his musical concerns and daily life episodes. This was followed by "Listening: Roy Kim Song Listening Test," a game format where participants had to guess song titles by listening only to YouTube Live music releases. A warm atmosphere continued as fans who passed the preliminary rounds spent time on stage with Roy Kim and shared gifts they had prepared.

Comfort Delivered Through Stories and Song

"Singing: Stories Segment" was a time to offer comfort by layering Roy Kim's voice over fans' personal stories. Roy Kim soothed the hearts of the fans who sent in stories by performing live versions of songs such as "Hold on," "Wherever You Are," "Listen," and "Let's Leave It Behind." Additionally, he showcased stable vocal skills by singing representative tracks including "HOME," "Suddenly," "LOVE LOVE LOVE," and "Smile Boy."

Roy Kim shared his thoughts, saying, "Since it was my first fan-meeting in 7 to 8 years, I prepared it to be even more special. The time spent talking directly with fans and sharing small stories felt like a different kind of emotion compared to a concert."

Having recently released the remake album 'Bloom Again,' Roy Kim continues his musical activities, appearing on university festivals and various festival stages to maintain his connection with fans.
