Kang Jae-jun turns a pig remark into a 77kg YouTube ultimatum
Comedian Kang Jae-jun says injury and yo-yo weight gain took him to 101kg, pledging on With Sean to hit 77kg or delete his channel.
"Daddy is a pig?" The story behind comedian Kang Jae-jun's rapid weight change has been revealed. Having once lost 32kg to reach 77kg, he recently faced a yo-yo effect that saw his weight soar to 101kg.

Unexpected injuries and psychological factors were behind this change. Appearing on the YouTube channel 'With Sean,' Kang Jae-jun revealed that he suffered an ankle injury during a full-course marathon in Hawaii, which he attempted before losing enough weight. Unable to continue exercising due to the injury, the resulting depression led to poor lifestyle habits and drinking, causing his weight to spike rapidly.
The decisive trigger that moved him was his son, Hyeon-jo. The shock he felt when his son pointed at a pig in a drawing and identified him as his father presented a challenge far greater than a simple diet. His wife, Lee Eun-hyeong, shared a humorous yet poignant glimpse of their family life on SNS, where their son pointed at a hippo in a book and called his father.
"I'll Delete My Channel if I Can't Reach 77kg": A Last Stand
Currently, Kang Jae-jun is aiming for a comeback, having already dropped from 101kg to 93kg. He made it clear that this challenge is his final battle to reclaim his health. Kang Jae-jun has pushed himself to the edge by making a radical pledge: "If I cannot reach 77kg by December 31 this year, I will delete my YouTube channel."
He cited excessive methods and perfectionism as the causes of his past failures. He explained that attempting things like low-carb high-fat diets or intermittent fasting all at once caused his mental state to crumble, leading to a vicious cycle of starving to avoid weight gain only to binge eat late at night.
His new strategy is 'sustainability.' Instead of excessive exercise, he has chosen 'slow running,' running about 5–7km at a gentle pace. For his diet, he follows a specific order—eating salads and protein first before consuming carbohydrates—and is practicing putting down his spoon before feeling completely full.
"If I Lose My Health, I Can't Protect My Family"
Kang Jae-jun has now established the value that health comes before work. The desperation of knowing he cannot protect his family if he loses his health is the driving force behind his actions.
"If I give up because the yo-yo effect came, I'll have to live in this state for the rest of my life," he said, expressing his firm determination. "This time, I will see it through to the end with the mindset that it is truly my last chance."
