Joo Hyun-young makes her theater debut in The Comeupfuns on July 11 at Daehakro Studio Blue, joining Project Gijigae as a producer.
Entering Daehakro with the play 'The Comeupfuns'
Actor Joo Hyun-young is moving beyond the screen to challenge herself on the theater stage. She will appear in the play 'The Comeupfuns,' which opens on July 11 at Daehakro Studio Blue.

The production is a black comedy set against the backdrop of a pre-gathering for a 20th high school graduation anniversary. It explores the life changes, losses, and shifting identities experienced by five friends as they reunite after once sharing a deep friendship.
Joo Hyun-young takes on the role of 'Caitlin.' Caitlin is a character who strives to maintain a perfect life while being acutely conscious of how others perceive her, yet harbors deep emptiness and deficiency within.
Forming 'Project Gijigae'... Participating as a Producer
This performance draws significant attention as it showcases Joo Hyun-young's evolution from an actor into a producer. Alongside fellow actors Kim Min-sung and Yeon Sol, Joo has formed the theater founding group 'Project Gijigae.'
The play 'The Comeupfuns' is the first project resulting from a collaboration between 'Project Gijigae' and the theater company 'Baba Circus.' Joo is leading the entire process of content creation, participating in everything from planning to directing and production.
Since her debut in the movie 'Aka 5jo,' Joo Hyun-young has been active in various works, including the dramas 'Extraordinary Attorney Woo' and 'Ms. Park's Contract Marriage,' as well as 'SNL Korea.'
'The Comeupfuns' begins its run on July 11 and will continue at Daehakro Studio Blue until August 30.
