Joo Hyun-young says Tak Jae-hun made her want to flee the room
On SBS's Ani Geunde Jinjja!, Joo Hyun-young opens up about her awkward No Back Tak Jae-hun shoot and freezing during a Son Heung-min interview.
"I Did All the Cute Acts, But He Wouldn't Laugh" Her Grievance Toward Tak Jae-hun
Actress Joo Hyun-young revealed an episode from her first meeting with entertainer Tak Jae-hun. Appearing on the SBS variety show 'Ani Geunde Jinjja!' aired on the 13th, Joo Hyun-young confessed that despite her usually easygoing personality, Tak Jae-hun actually left her with a lingering grudge.

Joo Hyun-young recalled her appearance on Tak Jae-hun's YouTube channel 'No Back Tak Jae-hun.' "It was my first time meeting him, so I was incredibly nervous," she said. "I was fully immersed in my detective role and did all sorts of cute acts to entertain him, but he wouldn't laugh." She added, "It was so difficult and embarrassing that I wanted to just burst out of the room," turning the set into a sea of laughter.
In response, Tak Jae-hun explained with his signature sly attitude, "My concept isn't about playing along with the other person." During the broadcast, fellow cast member Lee Sang Min teased Joo Hyun-young by giving her the nickname 'Nopi,' short for 'No Back Victim.'
Interview Behind-the-Scenes: Mental Breakdown Due to Son Heung-min's Overwhelming Aura
She also mentioned the tense moment she experienced while interviewing football player Son Heung-min. Describing the atmosphere when she met Son Heung-min, Joo Hyun-young explained, "There was an aura emanating from someone who has reached that level."
As Joo Hyun-young began to stutter due to nervousness, Son Heung-min jokingly teased her, saying, "Do it properly." Joo Hyun-young shared that she fell into a state of 'mental breakdown' at that exact moment. Co-star Lee Su-ji commented on Son Heung-min's variety sense, saying, "When we filmed for the office worker segment, he played along with the skit so well. It made me realize you really need wit and sense to be good at this."
The Origin Stories of the 'Reporter Joo' and 'Iljin' Characters
The process behind the creation of the alter egos that propelled Joo Hyun-young to stardom was also revealed. During the presidential election season, she received requests to mimic candidates, but due to her lack of experience, she pivoted her direction to create the 'Reporter Joo' character.
The beloved 'Iljin' (bully) character was a result of reflecting her actual experiences. "I was teased a lot when I was young, and having encountered many 'Iljin' older girls during my school years, those images naturally accumulated," Joo Hyun-young said, citing 'kindly applying pressure' as the core point of the character.
Ivy and Cha Jung-won also joined the broadcast as guests. Lee Su-ji, a 'master of alter egos,' revealed that her representative character 'Hwang Jeong-ja' was inspired by an elderly woman she met at a department store.
