MBC special program 'Oh Eun-young Report: Again, Love' has been selected as the winner in the TV Culture/Information category for the 315th PD Award of the Month, hosted by the Korea PD Association. The Korea PD Association announced the program as the final winner in this category on June 24, 2026.
The award recognizes the impact of the two-part special, which aired in May for Family Month and resonated with viewers. This special, created by the reunion of the former 'Human Documentary Love' production team, captured families who do not let go of their love for each other even in desperate situations.
Highlighting the stories of 'PUBG Couple' and 'Sonbal Couple'
The program examined the meaning of family through the cases of two families facing extreme situations. The 'PUBG Couple' story features a husband who sought to gift his wife, who received a terminal diagnosis, a final memory by recruiting users in a game to willingly let themselves be 'killed' by her.
The 'Sonbal Couple' story contains the tale of a husband who lost both legs and his left arm in a dump truck accident, and the wife who stayed by his side and endured to support his recovery. The production team was evaluated as not stopping at merely listing unfortunate circumstances, but sincerely portraying the process of families holding each other's hands and moving forward even amidst despair.
Korea PD Association: "Made us reflect on true love"
Judges from the Korea PD Association evaluated this work, stating, "Rather than simply showing unfortunate stories, it made us reflect on 'what true love is' through the image of families staying by each other's side until the end even amidst tragedy."
In particular, the key evaluation factors included not just comforting the pain of the participants but suggesting realistic directions for recovery so they can move forward, and demonstrating the unique identity of 'Oh Eun-young Report.' This special was produced by director Kim Jung-min and writer Lee Geun-young.
