Lee So-ra breaks her silence on six hidden years and a health scare

Singer Lee So-ra has made her comeback with the release of her new song 'I'll Forget Your Face (Summer Breeze)', her first in 7 years. Appearing on tvN's 'You Quiz on the Block' on the afternoon of the 15th, she stepped onto a talk show stage for the first time in 21 years to reveal her past pains.

Secluded for 6 years due to fear of vocal cord nodules, "Too afraid to even cross the hospital threshold"

Lee So-ra revealed that she sensed something was wrong with her throat after staying up all night in the cold wind during the filming of 'Begin Again' in 2017. She confessed that although she felt symptoms of vocal cord nodules at the time, she was too terrified that she might not be able to sing at all to even seek a medical diagnosis. This led her to live a secluded life, not leaving her house for 6 years.

Weight approaching 100kg and blood pressure exceeding 190mmHg, "I felt my life was in danger"

Her physical health also deteriorated rapidly during her hiatus. Lee So-ra shared that her weight surged to between 90–100kg, and she faced a critical situation where her blood pressure exceeded 190mmHg according to hospital tests.

She stated that at the moment she felt her life was in danger, the thought of "staying alive" came before her voice. Since then, she has maintained a specific management routine to recover her health, such as cutting out late-night snacks after 6 PM and exercising with a photo of her doctor posted next to her sofa.

She also mentioned her musical process. Lee So-ra explained the musical background of her hits, including the mega-hit 'The Wind Blows,' stating, "I always released a new album after an actual breakup."

Her new song, 'I'll Forget Your Face (Summer Breeze),' captures her recent experience of liking someone alone and then breaking up with them in her heart. She explained the background of the track, saying, "I liked that person so much by myself. I liked them alone, and I also broke up with them alone in my heart."
