National Singing Contest Couple Appears on AM Plaza 40 Days After Second Child's Birth

Ha Hyeong-jun and Choi Jeong-hui, the couple who won the Popularity Award during the Jinju episode of 'National Singing Contest,' appeared on 'AM Plaza' just 40 days after giving birth to their second daughter. On the KBS 1TV 'AM Plaza-Byeoljubujeon' broadcast on the morning of the 6th, the two shared the story of their relationship that began after just three days and led to marriage, as well as stories from behind the scenes of their 'National Singing Contest' stage.

The pair, who were once called the 'Unbalanced Couple,' also shared news of their current lives as parents of two children two years apart.

From SNS DM to a Marriage Fair

The beginning for the two was a Direct Message (DM) from Ha Hyeong-jun. Ha Hyeong-jun fell in love at first sight after seeing his wife's photo on SNS and sent her a message; as they continued their conversation, he visited Choi Jeong-hui's workplace with coffee. The two began dating just 3 days after meeting.

A marriage fair they happened to visit led to their marriage. They revealed that after visiting the fair, they decided to marry right away.

The Jinju Stage Performed at 8 Months Pregnant

When they appeared in the Jinju, Gyeongsangnam-do episode last April, Choi Jeong-hui was 8 months pregnant. Ha Hyeong-jun sang Jeon In-kwon's 'After Loving' with a soulful voice, while Choi Jeong-hui decorated the stage with cheerful dancing. The contrast between the husband's serious singing and the wife's comic performance led them to receive the Popularity Award, often called the highlight of the program.

The atmosphere of the preliminary round was more intense than expected. Seeing notable participants such as an elderly person wearing a traditional bamboo hat, Ha Hyeong-jun recalled telling his wife, "This isn't right. Let's just go home." Choi Jeong-hui said she stepped onto the stage for her husband, saying, "If a man draws a sword, he should at least slice a radish."

There were also unexpected moments on stage. Choi Jeong-hui wore a gorilla-patterned T-shirt and performed by revealing her pregnant belly, laughing as she said, "As soon as I showed my belly, they passed us immediately." Ha Hyeong-jun also mentioned that they received notice of passing just 3 seconds after he started singing. Choi Jeong-hui confessed that she suffered severe pubic pain after dancing intensely at the time.

Third Visit to Yeouido 40 Days After Childbirth

Subsequent broadcast appearances followed. The buzz from the 'National Singing Contest' stage led to invitations to various programs such as KBS 1TV 'Challenge Dream Stage,' and Choi Jeong-hui visited the broadcasting station on this day just 40 days after giving birth to her second daughter.

Choi Jeong-hui stated that she has visited the KBS Yeouido studio three times this year alone, including 'National Singing Contest,' 'Challenge Dream Stage,' and 'AM Plaza,' calling it the "glory of the family." Announcers Park Cheol-gyu and Uhm Ji-in, who hosted the program that day, along with guest singer Na Sang-do, also mentioned the couple's stage, and Na Sang-do said, "I failed 'National Singing Contest' twice, but these two completely turned the stage upside down."
