Carther Garden Reacts to Talented Performers on EBS '2026 Hello Rookie'

"I want to work together" — Car, the garden personally proposes an arrangement for Chegam's melodies

The first team to take the stage was the instrumental duo Chegam, consisting of keyboards and drums. Expressing confidence in the weight that comes from their minimal setup, they stated, "We have a clear chemistry between the two of us. If we can endure the weight we must overcome, it will be a great stage." Performing their competition song 'Ripples Colliding,' they poured out sophisticated and lyrical melodies, accompanied by the comment, "We will curate this like an art museum docent. Please listen deeply, as if you are spacing out while watching water."

The judging panel highly praised Chegam's performance, calling it "the emergence of the Korean version of Gogo Penguin" and noting their intricate drumming and minimal sound. In particular, MC Car, the garden, who watched the stage, caused a stir in the studio by making a direct live arrangement proposal to Chegam on the spot, saying, "I couldn't help it. I felt like I wanted to do something together."

Polyamory's Grand Narrative and PEEPPEEP's Reversal Charm

Following them, the instrumental post-rock band Polyamory displayed an overwhelming presence. They showed conviction in their two-person formation, stating, "If 3 or 4 people played the same music, it wouldn't be as cool as it is now." Through their competition song 'Silent Scream and Germination,' Polyamory completed a grand narrative even without lyrics, showcasing the charms of both math rock and post-rock.

The final stage was decorated by the indie rock band PEEPPEEP. Having received praise from Car, the garden as having "really good music and a good face," they showcased a reversal charm on stage. In their competition song 'Onatrip,' PEEPPEEP added a unique color by presenting a relaxed groove, sweet melodies, and cool vocals. Car, the garden highly evaluated their musicality, saying, "They make really good songs. Everyone would have liked them."

As the intense preliminary competition continues, it remains to be seen which teams will be chosen by the judges to advance to the next round. EBS '2026 Hello Rookie' airs every Friday at 12:20 AM.
