USPEER Returns After One-Year Break as Six-Member Group With 'BITE DISTRICT'

USPEER returned at 6 p.m. on June 17 with its first mini-album, 'BITE DISTRICT,' opening a new round of activities one year after its previous release. The group first introduced itself last year with the debut single 'SPEED ZONE,' and the new album arrives after USPEER reorganized both its member lineup and its working environment.

The current USPEER lineup consists of six members: Soy, Sian, Seoyu, Daon, Chaena, and Roa. Soon after debut, the team drew attention as a new girl group under WM Entertainment, but it later moved to MW Entertainment and went through another reset after member Yeowon left the group.

For a rookie team, a one-year gap is not a short pause. When promotions stop during the first year, a period when a new act needs to expand its fandom, the next release carries the added burden of having to prove the team again. In that sense, 'BITE DISTRICT' is more than an album collecting four new songs. It functions as USPEER's declaration that the group is ready to stand on stage again.

At the showcase held on June 17, the members did not hide the sense of a fresh start. Their statement that they would “without fail become a pillar of the company” reflected the determination of a team that has passed through an unsettled period and now wants to prove itself first through its own performance.

'BITE DISTRICT' includes four tracks: the title song 'WICKED GAME,' along with 'So Fine,' 'Bestie,' and 'LOUD.' If the debut single created the group's first impression with a sporty and gender-neutral image, the new mini-album presents a broader range of colors, moving through the emotions of girls who cannot be fully honest in love, the excitement of waiting for Monday, bright and lively pop energy, and disco sounds.

The album title also expands the language of the group's world from 'ZONE' to 'DISTRICT.' That shift suggests a direction beyond being remembered for the concept of one song, toward becoming a team capable of carrying several moods within its music and performances.

The changes were already visible in the official teaser and album spoiler. The teaser for 'WICKED GAME' puts witch imagery at the front like a fantasy film trailer, but instead of pushing the mood only into darkness, it leaves behind a playful and spirited expression. The appearance of actor Bae Hyun Sung in the music video also adds to the story-driven feel of the comeback.

The song places a strong chorus and emotional sound at the front, but the center of what USPEER wants to show is not a performance that presses forward only with force. The group is instead emphasizing lovable energy and character. Beginning with a fan showcase at 7:30 p.m. on June 17, USPEER will continue the comeback through music broadcasts, short-form content, and official videos.

The production also received support through the Korea Creative Content Agency's program for helping small and medium-sized entertainment companies make a global leap. Returning after one year, USPEER is using this round of activities to put its name back in front of audiences through the stage for 'WICKED GAME.'
