Uhm Jung-hwa's Okay Madam 2 Sets August 12 Release With Cruise Kidnapping Action
Okay Madam 2, the sequel to the 2020 hit, moves the comic action from an airplane to a luxury cruise. Uhm Jung-hwa, Park Sung-woong, Choi Soo-young and Lee Sang-yoon lead the cast.
The film 'Okay Madam 2' has confirmed its nationwide theatrical release for August 12. As the sequel to 'Okay Madam,' which drew 1.22 million viewers in 2020, it moves from the airplane in the sky from the previous installment to a luxury cruise on the blue sea as its new stage.

'Okay Madam 2' depicts the comic action that unfolds when the family of Mi-young (played by Uhm Jung-hwa), a former legendary agent, gets caught up in a cruise kidnapping incident in the middle of the ocean. Distributor CGV Pictures released 12 press stills on the 6th that offer a glimpse into the film's atmosphere.
Mi-young's family gets caught up in the cruise kidnapping incident
In the film, Mi-young lives as the owner of a twisted doughnut restaurant, leaving her glorious past career behind. By her side is her husband Seok-hwan (played by Park Sung-woong), who volunteers to act as a home protector. Seok-hwan is a character with a background as a former desk worker at the National Intelligence Service, and in this film, he shares comedic chemistry with Mi-young as they get caught up in an unexpected incident.
Dreaming of escaping her current life, Mi-young boards a cruise to attend the wedding of her friend Hyun-min (played by Bae Jung-nam). In this process, she also shows a surprising transformation by standing on a magic show stage at the suggestion of Ji-hoon (played by Ryeoun).
Mi-young's daily life, which she expected to be a happy trip, instantly turns into chaos when Anya (played by Choi Soo-young), the leader of a criminal organization, appears and the cruise is hijacked.
New characters join with Choi Soo-young and Lee Sang-yoon
This sequel expands the scope of the incident with the addition of new characters. Choi Soo-young appears as a key figure creating tension in the story as Anya, who leads the criminal organization. Park Jin-joo plays Sun-ah, the representative of the Eastern Venus who risks her life to defend the cruise, creating a unique combination with Seok-hwan.
As the incident intensifies, Chul-seung (played by Lee Sang-yoon), who was Mi-young's former fellow agent, emerges through the flames. Bae Jung-nam adds energy to the film as Mi-young's friend Hyun-min, and Ryeoun joins as Ji-hoon, who suggests Mi-young participate in the magic show.

The released stills capture the process from the daily lives of Mi-young, living as a twisted doughnut restaurant owner, and her unemployed husband Seok-hwan, to the scene turned into chaos by the cruise kidnapping incident. One can also see the changed gaze of Mi-young as she faces sudden incidents in her ordinary daily life and the urgent situations.
'Okay Madam 2' is directed by Lee Cheol-ha. Starring Uhm Jung-hwa, Park Sung-woong, Choi Soo-young, Lee Sang-yoon, Ryeoun, Park Jin-joo, and Bae Jung-nam, the film will meet audiences in theaters this summer on August 12.
