Suzy and Kim Seon-ho in Talks for Han Jae-rim’s Disney+ Series Delusion

Director Han Jae-rim's next project, 'Delusion', is gaining momentum with casting discussions involving Suzy and Kim Seon-ho. Suzy's agency, Management SOOP, stated that Suzy is positively reviewing the opportunity to appear in director Han Jae-rim's new work, 'Delusion'.

'Delusion' is a mystery work based on a popular Naver webtoon. Set in 1935 Gyeongseong and the 1800s Shanghai, it deals with the events that unfold when painter Yoon Yi-ho, who is commissioned to paint a portrait of a mysterious vampire woman, Song Jeong-hwa, confronts the woman's true identity. Suzy has been offered the lead role of Song Jeong-hwa.

New combination emerges after Ryu Jun-yeol and Han So-hee discussions fall through

Previously, 'Delusion' drew attention when news broke of discussions for actors Ryu Jun-yeol and Han So-hee to appear together, but the casting ultimately fell through. In an interview last May, director Han Jae-rim mentioned regarding an actor's private life, "If (Ryu Jun-yeol) had committed a crime, I would have been concerned, but I did not specifically care about private life issues."

After the previous discussions were halted, the production team is continuing talks with Suzy and Kim Seon-ho as a new lead combination. However, at the current stage, it is more accurate to view this as a matter under review and discussion rather than concluding that their appearances are confirmed.

Possibility of a reunion approximately 4 years after 'Start-Up'

If the casting of Suzy and Kim Seon-ho is confirmed, the two will work together again for the first time in about 4 years since the 2020 tvN drama 'Start-Up'. At that time, Kim Seon-ho appeared as Han Ji-pyeong and Suzy as Seo Dal-mi.

Suzy recently presented the film 'Wonderland' and is focusing on filming the Netflix series 'Genie, Make a Wish' by writer Kim Eun-seok. Kim Seon-ho is also proceeding with filming the Netflix series 'Can This Love Be Translated?' following Disney+ 'The Tyrant'.

Scheduled for exclusive release on Disney+ in 2026

'Delusion' is a new work by director Han Jae-rim, who directed 'The King', 'Emergency Declaration', and the Netflix series 'The 8 Show'. During the screenwriting process, director Han decided to produce it as a series, judging that the atmosphere and emotions of the work could be captured more deeply when produced as a series rather than a film.

'Delusion' is scheduled to be released exclusively through Disney+ in 2026 and is expected to be director Han Jae-rim's second series.
