Momoland’s Nayun time-slips into romance in Check-in to the Queen

A 48-episode short-form drama about a Joseon Queen's modern adaptation

The short-form drama 'Check-in to the Queen,' which tells the story of a Joseon Dynasty queen waking up in a modern-day pension, is set to meet viewers. Having begun its release on the 14th through the domestic short-form dedicated platform Vigloo, the series consists of 48 episodes.

Combining time-slip fantasy with romantic comedy and mystery elements, the drama follows the protagonist Kim Dan-hee as she faces lost memories, mysterious figures, and secrets surrounding past connections after being transported to modern society. As Dan-hee tracks these incidents through connections with three different men, she grows by breaking free from the molds of being someone's wife or the Queen of Joseon to choose a life and love as her true self.

EO Content Group's first foray into short-form

This production showcases a new short-form grammar designed by the production team behind 'Love Scout.' It marks the first short-form drama challenge for EO Content Group, leveraging the romance production expertise they built through 'Love Scout' and 'Head over Heels.' The production company has transplanted the character-driven storytelling secured during their existing long-form drama production processes into the fast-paced rhythm of short-form.

"This is our first work expanding the romance production capabilities we built while producing premium long-form dramas into the grammar of short-form," stated Oh Eun-young, CEO of EO Content Group. "We aimed to present premium content where character growth, delicate emotions, mystery, and twists remain vivid even in a short-form format."

Starring Nayun, Shin Woo-bin, Kim Dong-kyu, and Han Taehee

The lead actor lineup has also been established. Momoland member Nayun takes on the role of Queen Kim Dan-hee, portraying the process of a Joseon figure adapting and growing in modern society. Shin Woo-bin will play the role of Choi Do-young. Shin Woo-bin previously garnered attention by advancing to the competition section of the 2026 Berlin International Film Festival through the movie 'My Name.'

Kim Dong-kyu, playing Park Seung-woo, has appeared in Coupang Play's 'Absolute Value of Romance' and the MBC historical drama 'The Moon Flows in This River,' while Han Taehee, who appeared in the Disney+ original series 'Connect,' will play Kim Min-gyu.

EO Content Group plans to pursue diversification of content formats starting with 'Check-in to the Queen.' Their strategy is to target the global market by expanding production capabilities from long-form to mid-form and short-form. The production company has already completed production for the short-form drama 'Feelings Hit' (working title) and is preparing for distribution by the end of this year.
