Actress Youn Yuh-jung has been named as a nominee for the Emmy Awards, the most prestigious awards in the American broadcasting industry. Nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Miniseries, Anthology Series, or TV Movie at the 78th Primetime Emmy Awards, Youn Yuh-jung has once again demonstrated her global presence through this nomination.

The work behind this nomination is the Netflix original series 'Beef Season 2'. Youn Yuh-jung plays Chairman Park, a Korean billionaire who acquires a luxury country club. In this season, she appears as the wife of actor Song Kang-ho, showcasing their acting chemistry.

Youn Yuh-jung previously made history as the first Asian actress to win the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for the film 'Minari'. Following the Oscars, she now aims for an unprecedented record by reaching the Emmy nomination stage for Supporting Actress.

'Beef Season 2' sweeps nominations in 16 categories

Directed by Lee Sung-Jin, 'Beef Season 2' is an anthology-style work featuring new episodes. Set against the backdrop of a luxury country golf club, it depicts the process of a young couple caught in a whirlwind of retaliation after witnessing conflicts on-site.

The previous installment, Season 1, won 8 awards at the 2024 Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Program and Lead Actor/Actress awards. This Season 2 has also secured nominations in a total of 16 categories at the Emmys, including Outstanding Program, along with Carrie Mulligan (Lead Actress nominee), Oscar Isaac (Lead Actor nominee), and Charles Melton (Supporting Actor nominee).

The 78th Emmy Awards ceremony is scheduled to be held on September 14, 2026, at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles (LA), USA.
