Vietnam's SUN Group and VINGROUP Visit Korea to Discuss K-Town Cooperation in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City
Top executives from Vietnam's SUN Group and VINGROUP visit Korea to discuss K-Town projects and expansion into tourism, F&B, and lifestyle sectors.
Key executives from Vietnam's representative private enterprises, SUN Group and VINGROUP, visited Korea to discuss cooperation plans for entering the Vietnamese market, including the K-Town project. The visit was made upon the invitation of 'VietKorea,' a Korea-Vietnam business platform, and the scope of discussions expanded to tourism, food and beverage (F&B), lifestyle, cultural content, and service industries.

Consecutive meetings with domestic industries from June 17–20
The visiting delegation included Vice President Christian Tran of S.H.E. under SUN Group and Managing Director Kim Sang-hoon of Vincom Retail, a subsidiary of VINGROUP. They stayed in Korea for four days and three nights from June 17 to 20, discussing win-win cooperation models to help Korean companies enter the Vietnamese market with domestic industry officials.
At the startup fair held at Seoul SETEC, they discussed local commercialization strategies in Vietnam with representatives from promising domestic companies and brands. Specific cooperation models for Korean brands to settle in the Vietnamese market were also discussed at this venue.
Mid-sized enterprise meetings and sector-specific roundtables
The delegation held a private meeting with the Korea Federation of Midsize Business to exchange opinions on expanding cooperation between companies of both countries and establishing a support system for entering Vietnam. This was followed by roundtables with officials from various major institutions in fields such as economy, media, culture, and sports to activate exchange channels.
Discussions on K-Town hubs in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and more
The core agenda of these consultations was the 'K-Town Project' being promoted around major hub cities in Vietnam. Plans to support the local entry of Korean companies were discussed based on major tourism and economic cities, including Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, as well as Da Nang, Phu Quoc, Nha Trang, and Ha Long Bay.
The scope of cooperation was not limited to the manufacturing and industrial sectors. Directions to combine Korea's soft power sectors—such as tourism, F&B, lifestyle, cultural content, and service industries—with Vietnam's commercial and tourism infrastructure were also addressed.
On June 19, an 'Invitation Dinner for Key Figures for Korea-Vietnam Business Exchange' was held in Gangnam, Seoul, with the attendance of the Vietnamese Ambassador to Korea and other officials. The dinner was organized to confirm the importance of economic and cultural exchange between the two countries and to solidify cooperation at the private level.
