"The depression index came back high" Yoo Hye-jung's feelings of guilt

Actress Yoo Hye-jung has opened up about the complex emotions she experienced while raising her daughter alone. In the July 9 broadcast of MBN's 'Special World,' the daily life of Yoo Hye-jung, who has lived as a single mother, was portrayed.

After divorcing her former husband Seo Yong-bin, Yoo Hye-jung built her life around her daughter, Seo Gyu-won, but recently found herself blaming herself after learning that her daughter's depression index was high in a recent health checkup. Yoo Hye-jung expressed her distress to her older sister, Yoo Ji-hyun, saying, "Gyu-won has been under too much stress. The depression index came back to a problematic level."

She concluded that the psychological burden on her daughter likely increased due to overlapping circumstances, including moving issues and the declining health of their pet dog.

Having grown up as her mother's pillar of support, daughter Seo Gyu-won is currently working at a hotel in Myeong-dong. Yoo Hye-jung boasted about her daughter, saying, "Even when she was young, she didn't throw tantrums and grew up like a gentle soul," but Gyu-won eventually revealed her true feelings.

During the broadcast, Gyu-won confessed, "There are many times when I break down alone. There are many times in the evening when it is so, so hard," describing the times she endured through a sense of responsibility. The mother and daughter enjoyed a date visiting a jjimjilbang and the area in front of the Myeong-dong hotel. When Yoo Hye-jung mentioned the depression index, Gyu-won comforted her mother by quoting the lyrics of AKMU, saying, "It is a beautiful heart that sadness follows joy. It is because of that kind of sadness that happiness feels even happier."

Jjang-a, the pet dog that prevented two fires

The family has a 17-year-old pet dog named Jjang-a. Recently, Yoo Hye-jung has been pouring so much devotion into caring for Jjang-a, whose energy has declined, that she has even neglected her own meals.

Jjang-a is also a special being who saved Yoo Hye-jung's life. Yoo Hye-jung revealed that Jjang-a prevented fires and saved lives, stating, "If I fall asleep while boiling a dishcloth, a burning smell rises in the house, and there have been two instances where Jjang-a scratched Grandma to wake her up."

Yoo Hye-jung added, "Jjang-a is an indispensable existence in our home."
