Yang Se-hyung Scores 91 to Earn Level 1 on Korean History Proficiency Test
Comedian Yang Se-hyung earned Level 1 on the Advanced Korean History Proficiency Test after two months of study. His 91-point result was revealed on MBC’s Where Is My Home.
Comedian Yang Se-hyung has obtained Level 1 in the Advanced Korean History Proficiency Test after two months of studying. In the MBC show 'Where Is My Home' broadcast on the 25th, Yang Se-hyung's process of passing the exam with 91 points was depicted.

Yang Se-hyung, who recently made headlines as a wealthy individual by purchasing a building near Hongdae in Mapo-gu, Seoul, for 10.9 billion won, revealed another side of himself in this broadcast.
Preparing for the Korean History Exam for Two Months
Through the broadcast, Yang Se-hyung revealed that he had been immersed in studying recently without any other major issues. He shared his daily life spent in student mode, saying, "I have been preparing for the Korean History Proficiency Test for two months."
Regarding the reason he started studying, he said, "I felt like I should know some Korean history. I suddenly became curious about history." He further explained the motivation for focusing on Korean history, stating, "A nation that forgets its history has no future, doesn't it? I felt that it is something to be grateful for that we are doing well now."
Despite his busy broadcasting schedule, Yang Se-hyung devoted himself to his studies as if preparing for the CSAT. He confessed the difficulties of the preparation process, saying, "At first, I tried to understand and memorize, but when I solved past exam questions, it was difficult. There were things that required meticulous memorization to pass."
His younger brother, Yang Se-chan, described his brother's changed demeanor, saying, "He is more sensitive than when he was a high school senior," conveying the tension of his exam-taking life.
Goal was Level 2, Result is 91 Points Level 1
Yang Se-hyung's original goal was Level 2. Just before the exam, he predicted, "With today's condition, I think Level 2 is possible," but the result exceeded expectations.
Yang Se-hyung recorded 91 points, earning Level 1 in the Advanced Korean History Proficiency Test. The passing standard for Level 1 of this exam, organized by the National Institute of Korean History, is 80 points or higher.
His skills were also evident during an impromptu quiz conducted during the broadcast. When asked about the naval battle in which Admiral Yi Sun-sin died, Yang Se-hyung answered without hesitation, "It is the Battle of Noryang. It starts with the Battle of Hansan Island and ends with the Battle of Noryang."
Upon hearing the news of his passing, Yang Se-hyung joked, "I have more historical knowledge in my head than you all think. Now I can brag about history."
Mention of Father Graduated from Seoul National University Re-emerges
This achievement also drew attention as it aligns with Yang Se-hyung's family background. In past broadcasts, Yang Se-hyung has revealed that his father is a graduate of the College of Agriculture at Seoul National University.
Following the recent news of his 10.9 billion won building purchase, Yang Se-hyung, who also obtained Level 1 in the Korean History Proficiency Test through two months of intensive study, personally demonstrated the results of his efforts on the show.
