Kim Hee Chul recalled an incident near the Cheongdam intersection where someone rolled down a car window and handed him a gold business card. Although the card didn't even list a shop name, it was later confirmed to be a business card for a host bar. Recalling the situation, Leeteuk shared, "That person said if we worked there, we could each buy a building." The two shared such a dizzying moment that they even joked about holding hands and going there together if they failed to debut.

The 'Incheon Battle' physical fight and tearful dormitory life

After their debut, the relationship between the two cooled down drastically. While Kim Hee Chul focused on acting activities such as the drama 'Banollim,' leader Leeteuk had to lead the team while enduring the members' dissatisfaction. Ultimately, a fierce physical altercation known as the 'Incheon Battle' broke out in an MBC waiting room in Incheon. During this process, the conflict exploded, with Leeteuk grabbing Kim Hee Chul by the collar. Fellow singers including Seven and Taeyang were present at the scene at the time.

The conflict continued on stage and in their dormitory. During performances, the two had to dance while exchanging sharp words at each other while holding hand microphones, and a cold war continued in their dormitory. Leeteuk confessed, "I burst into tears while applying lotion. It hurt so much that I thought I had no friends left." Kim Hee Chul added that because he is the type of person who needs to resolve things immediately after a fight, he felt frustrated seeing Leeteuk, who would not reveal his true feelings.

Sincere conversations during the US tour lead to unit activities

The long-standing conflict was finally resolved during a US tour. Having cleared up misunderstandings through sincere conversations in the US, Kim Hee Chul said, "I made up my mind to be completely on Leeteuk's side."

Having recently formed the unit 'SUPER JUNIOR-83z,' the two have released the mini-album 'Promise.' They will continue their activities through a fan concert tour starting on the 25th.
