Super Junior members Leeteuk and Kim Hee Chul, both born in 1983, are joining forces as the unit 'Super Junior-83z.' SM Entertainment announced that they will release their first mini-album, 'Promise,' and unveil the music video for the title track at 6 PM on July 13.
Two members in school uniforms embark on a time travel journey via the '83 Bus'
In the released teaser images, Leeteuk and Kim Hee Chul appear wearing school uniforms, waiting for or boarding a bus. The concept evokes a sense of fresh nostalgia for school days. Notably, the bus stop signage includes details reflecting the unit's identity and the members' characteristics, such as 'Onsaemiro,' '1983-ro,' and 'Jeongsu Intersection.'
The music video for the title track 'Promise' uses a fictional '83 Bus' as a medium. It follows a drama-style format where the two, who were best friends during their school years, reunite after much time has passed. The music video was directed by 'Wallala Studio,' led by Super Junior member Shin Dong Hee. Leeteuk and Kim Hee Chul were directly involved in the entire process, from the initial idea conception to the detailed acting on the filming set.

The new song is based on the sounds that dominated the 1990s through the early 2000s and features sincere Korean lyrics. Combined with powerful vocals, it creates an intense yet refreshing atmosphere.
Leeteuk, who has participated in songwriting and composing as the leader of Super Junior, and Kim Hee Chul, who previously showcased retro sensibilities through the project duo 'Space Cowards,' are expected to complete the musical color of this unit. The mini-album, containing a total of 6 songs, will be released through music release sites on July 13 at 6 PM.
