Ralral Finds Hornet Swarm Near Home Vent, Told to Contact Fire Station
Broadcaster Ralral shared that hornets had gathered around a vent on the exterior wall of her home. After contacting the management office, she was advised to seek help from the fire station or experts rather than handle the nest herself.
Broadcaster Ralral revealed on her personal social media that a swarm of hornets had gathered around the ventilator on the exterior wall of her residence. As she shared that she was advised to contact the fire station after requesting help from the management office, the issue of how to respond when discovering hornets inside or outside a home was also discussed.

Hornets near the ventilator posted on social media
Ralral expressed her bewilderment by posting a view of hornets gathering near the ventilator outside her window. In her post, she wrote, 'It looks like the hornets have made a home near the ventilator.'
When bees or wasps gather in places that are difficult to reach, such as outside a window or on an exterior wall, it may be immediately visible from inside the house, but actual handling is not easy. Since a ventilator is a facility connected to the interior, there is also the burden of having to check whether the insects continue to come in and out or if they are affecting the inside.
Contacting the fire station after inquiring with the management office
It was reported that after requesting help from the management office, Ralral was advised to contact the fire station. While the management office is usually the first thought for issues regarding the exterior walls of apartments or officetels, it is dangerous to approach a group of aggressive creatures like hornets without proper equipment and protective clothing.
Seek help from experts or 119 rather than direct removal
Hornets are not like honeybees that sting once and stop. They can attack multiple times, and if they feel their nest has been disturbed, they can become a threat to people nearby. This is why safety guidelines repeatedly advise not to attempt to remove a nest yourself when discovered in a living space, but to leave it to experts or 119.
In particular, in places where ladders, windows, and railings are intertwined, such as ventilators or exterior walls, the danger of the insects is compounded by the risk of falling. When a bee or hornet suddenly comes close, the priority is to avoid waving your arms wildly or screaming, and instead cover your head and quietly increase the distance. If a nest is disturbed, it is recommended to evacuate by staying at least 20m away.
Based on the currently disclosed information, it is not confirmed what type of hornets they are, the size of the nest, whether the removal work has been completed, or if measures have been taken to prevent recurrence around the ventilator. If reactions such as dizziness, difficulty breathing, or hives appear after being stung, it should be treated as an emergency and immediate help must be sought.
