DAWN Says He May Try Retirement Within Five Years on Salon Drip
DAWN said on TEO's Salon Drip that he is considering whether to leave the entertainment industry within five years if a new dream emerges. He also discussed his stage name and his ENA variety show connection with NCT 127's Johnny.
Singer DAWN revealed on the YouTube channel 'TEO's' 'Salon Drip' that he is considering concluding his activities in the entertainment industry within the next five years. He cited another dream as the reason for thinking about retirement, while also sharing the background of his stage name 'DAWN' and his connection with NCT 127's Johnny, formed through the ENA variety show 'The Prince and the Pauper'.

Retirement concerns revealed on 'Salon Drip'
During the broadcast, DAWN confessed, "Actually, if I retire from the entertainment industry, there is a part of me that wants to be forgotten quickly," adding, "I am contemplating (whether to attempt retirement) within 5 years." When host Jang Do-yeon asked for the reason behind such sudden words, DAWN replied, "It's because another dream might arise within 5 years," and said, "I always love dreaming new dreams."
Stage name 'DAWN' derived from his real name
The process of deciding his stage name was also revealed. DAWN explained the background of choosing the stage name 'DAWN', saying, "The 'hyo' in my name means dawn, and I found out that dawn is 'Dawn' in English." When NCT 127's Johnny, who appeared alongside him, pointed out that the pronunciation of the name sounds like 'Dan', DAWN burst into laughter, saying, "I should change it to 'Dan'."
There were also difficulties with searches due to his stage name. DAWN mentioned, "When I searched my name on portal sites, there were too many results containing 'dawn.' Even when my name appeared, it was quickly pushed down," and then connected it to his desire to quickly disappear from the public's memory after retirement, saying, "Later on, it was actually better (that way)."
Connection with Johnny through 'The Prince and the Pauper'
NCT 127's Johnny also joined the broadcast. The two formed a connection through the ENA variety program 'The Prince and the Pauper'. Johnny described DAWN as "a friend who has a clear sense of pace and is charming," while DAWN responded by calling Johnny "a friend full of emotion who listens well."
The ENA variety show 'The Prince and the Pauper', where the chemistry between DAWN and Johnny can be seen, is scheduled to premiere on July 27.
