72 Hours at the Gyeonggi Northern Regional Maternal and Child Medical Center

On Monday, July 13 at 8:30 PM, KBS 2TV's 'Documentary 3 Days' visits the Gyeonggi Northern Regional Maternal and Child Medical Center. The subtitle for this 729th episode is 'Before Meeting You - 72 Hours at the Gyeonggi Northern Regional Maternal and Child Medical Center.'

Documentary 3 Days: Capturing Life at the Regional Maternal and Child Medical Center

With the recent rise in advanced maternal age and infertility treatments, cases involving high-risk pregnant women and premature infants are increasing. The Regional Maternal and Child Medical Center was established as a regional hub to fill these medical gaps, serving as a high-stakes site where surgeries for high-risk mothers and emergency responses continue 24 hours a day.

Bonds Among Inpatients and Scenes from the NICU

Amidst the exhaustion of hospitalization, expectant mothers rely on one another and build strong bonds. Park Ju-young, who is carrying a precious life after experiencing a miscarriage, and Kim Min-jin, who was hospitalized due to uterine contractions, have become close friends over the past month, spending their time making baby supplies together.

Meanwhile, babies who arrived in the world a little early receive treatment in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). From twins born weighing only 1kg to infants who have undergone heart surgery, parents share warmth with their babies through kangaroo care during brief visitation periods of about 30 minutes, three times a week.

Actor Shin Ae Ra Participates as Narrator

Actor Shin Ae Ra provides the narration for this broadcast. Having previously shared the preciousness of life through public adoption, Shin Ae Ra uses her signature voice to tell the stories of those waiting for the beginning of life.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health and Welfare has selected 10 regional maternal and child medical centers that perform 24-hour delivery and newborn care. The selected institutions will receive 150 million won each for 4 months this year, and starting next year, an annual budget of 450 million won each (50% national funds, 50% local funds) will be provided.
