On the 14th, the SBS variety program 'Mountain Bachelor Young-woong' featured Lim Young-woong, Kwak Beom, Roy Kim, Nucksal, and Heo Kyung Hwan. The cast began their meal with thinly sliced pork bulgogi and rice cake dumpling soup prepared by Kwak Beom.
When Nucksal asked Roy Kim why he applied for the Marines, Roy Kim replied, "Marines are in my DNA. I came out of my mother's womb, and instead of saying 'wah,' I said 'aaah!'" Nucksal reacted by saying, "That is truly strange," while Kwak Beom emphasized Roy Kim's eccentricity, adding, "Usually, juniors avoid seniors, but here, the senior avoids the junior. It's not normal."
The Marine Senior-Junior Connection Between Kwak Beom and Roy Kim
The special connection between Kwak Beom and Roy Kim was also revealed. Kwak Beom stated that he first met Roy Kim during a Marine-themed special broadcast and that they have maintained contact privately since then. Kwak Beom confessed, "At first, it was a bit uncomfortable because he was so 'Marine, Marine' about everything."
When Heo Kyung Hwan asked who the senior was, Kwak Beom remarked, "Originally, Roy isn't even supposed to look me in the eye."
Roy Kim immediately lowered his body in a gesture and quipped, "That's right, I have to eat down here," sending the set into fits of laughter.
From Lim Young-woong to Nucksal: Cast Members Share Military Stories
The cast members shared their respective military service experiences. Nucksal, who served in the 7th Division Reconnaissance Unit, expressed his hardships, saying, "I joined because they said they give a lot of leave, but I almost died."
Lim Young-woong recalled his service in the 3rd Division GOP Reconnaissance Unit. He mentioned his specific duty at the time, which involved the task of opening the gate.
Kwak Beom revealed his history of serving as a drill instructor during his military service.
During the meal, Roy Kim praised Kwak Beom's cooking, saying, "You should go on 'Culinary Class Wars.'" In response, Heo Kyung Hwan and Nucksal exchanged playful jokes regarding Kwak Beom's complexion.
