Sang Cheol's Self-Boasting and Ok-sun's Fatigue: "I Study Instead of Watching Dramas"

In the 32nd single-divorce edition of SBS Plus and ENA's 'SOLO' broadcast on the 8th, the participants engaged in random dates. The most eye-catching scene of the day was the cafe date between Ok-sun and Sang Cheol.

Ok-soon Declares Distance After Sang-cheol's Constant Self-Justifications

At the start of the date, Sang Cheol attempted to lighten the mood by playing the kazoo. He playfully opened with, "It's not cool, but this is how I play," but Ok-sun responded candidly, "It really isn't cool, is it?" When Sang Cheol asked, "I probably look young, right?" Ok-sun reacted by saying, "I can feel it since we're together." Song Hae Na, who was nearby, chimed in, saying, "I can feel it too."

As the conversation progressed, Sang Cheol's self-justifications grew longer. He explained at length, "I'm trying not to get too serious," and "What am I supposed to do? I'm a boring person." In particular, Sang Cheol monopolized the conversation, pouring out his own stories while claiming, "I'd rather study in the time I could be watching a drama or a movie." Ok-sun could not hide her signs of exhaustion, merely listening without much reaction. Watching this, MC Defconn expressed his sympathy after seeing Ok-sun's expression, saying, "She's fed up. This won't work. I'm rooting for them, but he talks too much."

The conflict between the two escalated into a difference in values regarding communication styles. Ok-sun mentioned how Sang Cheol's monopolization of the conversation blocked communication with others, stating, "From Gwang-su's perspective, it must have been annoying." Sang Cheol expressed his disappointment, saying, "It feels like you're taking (Gwang-su's) side," to which Ok-sun firmly drew a line, saying, "I am taking no one's side."

Ok-sun's Declaration of 'Distance' and Diverging Love Lines

Ultimately, Ok-sun requested a temporary pause in their relationship. She declared to Sang Cheol, "I think I need to keep some distance for a while and think about it." Sang Cheol also bitterly conceded, "I had those same thoughts at the raw fish restaurant. I should keep my distance. I should take a break."

In the interview following the date, Ok-sun revealed that her interest in Sang Cheol had plummeted. "Even the phrase 'taking sides' gave off a younger vibe," Ok-sun said, adding, "The conflicting emotions grew even stronger." She continued, "I felt my interest drop significantly today. It was a date that gave me the certainty that this will be difficult."

Meanwhile, the date between Yeong-su and Yeong-ja also hit a snag. Yeong-su ignored Yeong-suk's previous request to "talk while sober" and drank during the date. Yeong-ja created an awkward situation by telling Yeong-su, "Your way of speaking is like Jung Woo-sung. Your visuals are like Jung Woo-sung. You're like an old Jung Woo-sung." Yeong-su showed confidence, claiming, "In terms of looks, Yeong-suk is number one," and "Ok-sun probably has me ranked high too." Defconn pointed out, "He's trapped in the memory of dating pretty women in the past. Times have changed now." Yeong-ja and Yeong-su concluded their date without feeling any romantic attraction to each other.
