Oh Ji-heon and Oh Jung-tae Eye Japan with Japanese Version of 'K-Ugly' Song
Comedians Oh Ji-heon and Oh Jung-tae revealed plans to target Japan with their 'K-Ugly' concept on TV Chosun's 'Lovers of Joseon' anniversary singing contest. Shim Hyung-rae, Tae Jin-ah, Insooni and other entertainers also appeared in the special.
Comedians Oh Ji-heon and Oh Jung-tae expressed their ambitions to challenge the Japanese market with a 'K-Ugly' concept. Their plans were revealed during the 5th Anniversary Special Singing Contest preliminary round broadcast on TV Chosun's 'Lovers of Joseon' on June 29, 2026.

Preparing for Japanese Debut as 'Ugly Three Brothers'
Oh Ji-heon and Oh Jung-tae revealed that they have been preparing music since last year. Oh Ji-heon showed confidence in the local Japanese response, stating, "We have been preparing music since last year. We were even thinking about expanding into Japan with the 'Ugly Three Brothers' song."
Oh Jung-tae also mentioned that he is studying Japanese in parallel, saying, "We are going to Japan after achieving good results on 'Lovers of Joseon.'" The two led the atmosphere of the preliminary round venue by even performing a Japanese version of their song.
Shim Hyung-rae Performs 'Cotton Fields' in Young-gu Makeup
On this day's stage, Shim Hyung-rae and Shim Hyun-seop of the Cheongsong Shim clan also appeared. Shim Hyung-rae, wearing Yeong-gu makeup, performed 'Cotton Fields' alongside Oh Ji-heon, Oh Jung-tae, and Shim Hyun-seop.
Shim Hyung-rae brought laughter when he spoke about the stage concept, saying, "Originally, our condition isn't very good. So we suggested trying a pop song."
Furthermore, during a conversation with judge Tae Jin-ah, he shared his recent news regarding his re-participation in the production of the movie 'D-War 2,' stating, "I am entering the 'D-War 2' movie again this time." Tae Jin-ah praised Shim Hyung-rae's guitar playing skills and offered joking encouragement, wishing for the movie's box office success.

During the preliminary stages, Kim Na-hee received a preliminary pass by singing Roo'ra's 'Wingless Angel' with her colleagues. Actor Choi Sung-kook appeared with his wife, who is 24 years younger, and their two children, recording an 'All Pass.'
