The group Twice has concluded the journey of their sixth world tour, 'THIS IS FOR', which spanned the globe over the course of one year. From the 10th to the 12th, Twice held encore performances at the KSPO DOME in Songpa-gu, Seoul, marking the grand finale of the tour. All shows during this Seoul leg were completely sold out.
Starting in July last year at the Incheon Inspire Arena, this tour consisted of 81 performances across a total of 44 regions, including Asia, Oceania, North America, and Europe. During this tour, Twice became the first overseas artist to enter the Japan National Stadium in Tokyo, and was the first K-pop girl group to hold a solo concert at the Hong Kong Kai Tak Stadium. In North America, they drew 550,000 spectators, the largest number ever for a K-pop girl group, and attracted 640,000 fans in Japan.
Three-Dimensional Performances Using a 360-Degree Stage and Unit Stages
The Seoul encore stage captured the essence of the past 11 years. Performances included tracks from their fourth studio album 'THIS IS FOR', the tour's title track, as well as recent songs such as 'OPTIONS', 'MARS', and 'RIGHT HAND GIRL'. Hits like 'OOH-AHH', 'TT', and 'Cheer Up' followed. Solo stages by Tzuyu, Nayeon, Chaeyoung, and Jihyo were performed, along with unit stages such as 'TAKEDOWN' by Jeongyeon, Jihyo, and Chaeyoung, and 'Confetti' by Mina, Sana, and Momo.
The stage design, which utilized the space of the KSPO DOME three-dimensionally, was also noteworthy. Centered around the main stage, auxiliary stages on both sides were connected by a bridge in an S-shaped configuration, creating a 360-degree open stage. The layout was designed to minimize the physical distance with the audience while ensuring the stage could be viewed from the front from any seat.
During the 'I GOT YOU' performance, the members showcased choreography that organically connected the three different stages, and during 'Dance The Night Away', all nine members, including Nayeon, Momo, and Sana, gathered in a circle to enjoy a dance party.
Upon finishing the concert, the members of Twice shared their feelings, saying, "Thinking that this is the end of such a long tour makes us feel both regretful and moved. Seeing ONCE right in front of us reminds us of our debut, and this moment feels so precious. We are so proud to be Twice."
