Entertainer and former fitness trainer Yang Chi-seung is opening a new shop in the Gangnam Station underground shopping center in Seoul. The blank space that fans were curious about has been filled with a salad bread shop.

The store is located in the Gangnam Station underground shopping center and will open its doors on June 19. Yang explained that he tasted and refined the menu several times while preparing it, emphasizing that it is a salad bread with a balanced composition of protein, carbohydrates, and fats. His long career handling exercise and diet has naturally led to the shop's concept.

"I will only accept your well wishes" instead of flower wreaths

While announcing the opening news, Yang Chi-seung asked his acquaintances not to send flower wreaths. He wrote, "I will only accept your well wishes." While he could have heavily promoted the new shop as an entertainer, this start is closer to the intention of enduring through actual business rather than seeking a scene of celebration.

The reason the new business is receiving more attention is due to the flow of the past year. He said he had suffered major losses while closing the gym he operated in Gangnam-gu, and later revealed that he got a job at an apartment community facility management company. In a broadcast this January, he personally shared his current status as an office worker, saying, "When the gym collapsed, a better opportunity actually came." This store is a choice to return to being a self-employed business owner after being a gym director, an entertainer, and an office worker.

Challenging the food industry again following a tteokbokki shop

Food business is not an unfamiliar field for Yang Chi-seung. He has shown interest in the food industry before and opened a tteokbokki shop in 2021. This time, it differs in nature from his previous attempt in that he has come out with salad bread that aligns with his image as an exercise expert.
