Private Jung Dong-won Shouts 'Victory' in Marine Corps Combat Uniform
Private Jung Dong-won, serving in the Marine Corps 2nd Division Artillery Brigade, took the stage as the emcee for an official event during his military service. On the 11th, a victory commemoration ceremony was held to honor the Gunsan, Janghang, and Iri districts battles, which marked the first victory in Marine Corps history during the Korean War. Jung Dong-won stood at the center of the stage to lead the event, which was organized to honor the spirits of veterans and fallen heroes.

Sporting short-cropped hair and wearing a Marine Corps combat uniform and octagonal cap, Jung Dong-won exuded a different aura compared to his pre-enlistment days. After stepping onto the stage, he removed his cap and offered a greeting with a disciplined salute. "Hello. I am Private Jung Dong-won, your emcee. First, let me greet you with a salute. Victory!" he shouted energetically.
Gratitude to Fans Who Braved the Heatwave
Even amidst a heatwave warning with temperatures approaching 34 degrees, Jung Dong-won did not forget his feelings for the fans who visited the site. He expressed, "I am grateful to so many people who came to show love and support for the Marine Corps despite the hot and humid weather." He continued to share his sincerity toward his fandom, saying, "I am conducting my first event while traveling all the way to Gunsan. Since it feels like it has been a long time since I last saw you, I came with high expectations. Thank you to everyone in 'Woojuchongdongwon' for coming, and I hope you enjoy the performance."
MC Lee Kang-hyun, who participated in the event, shared photos and videos taken with Jung Dong-won on his channel, stating, "I was so happy to share the stage with my wonderful junior, Marine Jung Dong-won.\" At the time, a large number of fans gathered to check on Jung Dong-won's military status, with as many as 40 fan club buses mobilized to the scene.
Scheduled Discharge in August 2027, a Promise to Return with Maturity
Having graduated from Seoul School of Performing Arts this past February, Jung Dong-won volunteered for the Marine Corps at the age of 19. This choice reflected his father's background in the 707 Special Mission Group and his own desire, stating, "Since I was born a man, I want to complete my military service in a cool way." His agency explained, "He made a responsible choice to keep a promise to himself."
Currently serving as a Private in the Marine Corps 2nd Division Artillery Brigade, Jung Dong-won's scheduled discharge date is August 22, 2027. Even during his military service, Jung Dong-won maintains a connection with his fans, such as watching the film 'Jung Dong-won Fan Concert Film: The Road We Meet Again' during his leave.
