Na Mi-ae Marries Composer Kim In-hyo After Wearing First Wedding Dress at 61

Singer Na Mi-ae has opened the second chapter of her life by announcing her first marriage at the age of 62. Appearing on KBS 1TV's 'Achim Madang' broadcast on June 29, 2026, alongside composer Kim In-hyo, Na Mi-ae revealed that they tied the knot on September 20, 2025.

The first wedding dress worn at age 61

For Na Mi-ae, who is 62 this year, this marriage is the first of her life. In the year she turned 61, she wore a wedding dress for the very first time.

During the broadcast, Na Mi-ae expressed her unique feelings, saying, "I thought I could wear any other outfit, but I never thought I would have the chance to wear a wedding dress in my lifetime." Regarding her husband Kim In-hyo (70), who is 9 years older, she described him as "someone like a savior."

Marriage postponed while caring for mother with dementia

There was a family history behind why Na Mi-ae remained single for a long time and postponed marriage. She confessed, "Because I had to live with my mother who suffers from dementia, I didn't think about marriage at all; I just planned to live alone with my mother and focus on singing."

At that time, the most important condition for a partner for Na Mi-ae was someone who could sincerely help care for her mother. Kim In-hyo took care of Na Mi-ae's mother with utmost devotion, and Na Mi-ae expressed her gratitude, saying, "After getting married, I realized my husband takes even better care of my mother than I do. It feels like Heaven gave me a great gift, saying, 'You've worked hard all this time.'"

The two grew close while preparing a new album in 2023

Kim In-hyo has also spent a long time alone. After divorcing at age 32, he lived alone for about 38 years and suffered a cerebral infarction in 2004. Recalling those times, Kim In-hyo said, "I wondered who would ever marry me."

The connection between the two began with music. Kim In-hyo is a composer who created works such as Nam Jin's 'I'm Afraid,' Jo Hang-jo's 'Don't Go,' and Choi Jin-hee's 'What Does Love Look Like.' The two grew close while preparing a new album in the fall of 2023, and Kim In-hyo is also working as a musical partner, handling the composition and producing of Na Mi-ae's new songs.

Singing and newlywed life following 'Trot-X' victory

Na Mi-ae, who debuted in 1986 with 'The One I Loved,' regained public recognition by winning Mnet's 'Trot-X' in 2014. Seeing success at the age of 50, she met composer Kim In-hyo and became a married couple.

Details of their newlywed life were also shared on the broadcast. Na Mi-ae confessed that she sometimes felt disappointed when her husband returned home late due to billiards, which he started for cerebral infarction rehabilitation. To be considerate of his wife, Kim In-hyo is currently adjusting his schedule to return home before 9:30 PM. The two are living as a family, embracing each other's pains.
