Byun Woo-seok Tears Up at First Fan Meeting in Two Years, Then Holds Three-Hour Hi-Bye Event

Actor Byun Woo-seok shed tears at his Seoul fan-meeting, where he faced fans for the first time in two years. On the stage of '2026 Byun Woo-seok Asia Fan-meeting Tour "The Secret Library" in SEOUL' held on July 4 and 5 at Jamsil Indoor Stadium in Seoul, he could not control his emotions and turned red-eyed while facing the fans' support.

Byun Woo-seok collapses on stage due to fan messages

Overwhelmed by the sincere messages from fans, Byun Woo-seok sobbed, saying, “I am having a fan-meeting after two years. Seriously, why am I being like this?” before collapsing onto the stage. He tried to compose himself by hitting his thigh with his fist, but the tears did not stop easily.

MC Park Seul-gi, observing the atmosphere, wittily shifted the mood by saying, “As long as you didn't cry on 'Yoo Jae-seok Camp', it's fine.” Warm laughter and applause erupted from the audience.

After wiping his tears, Byun Woo-seok said, “I am reading the supportive messages very carefully. Thank you for supporting me more, and I love you.” He continued to express his affection for fans, stating, “I was so happy, and I hope this time becomes a happy memory for you as well. I will gain more strength and work hard.”

In a video message, he promised, “I was able to come this far through the unconditional love of fans. I will be living my life more sincerely and with dedication than anyone else in this position, so I will do my best to overcome and shine so that you can find comfort by looking at me, even from afar, when you feel tired, lonely, or having a hard time.”

'The Secret Library' sold out and OST performances

This fan-meeting was organized for the first time in two years since 'Summer Letter' held in 2024. It was decorated with the concept of 'The Secret Library', meaning to record new memories, and recorded a complete sell-out through membership pre-sales alone.

On stage, Byun Woo-seok passionately sang OSTs from his drama works, such as 'Sudden Shower', 'Because I Will Meet You', and 'Parallel Line'. He also performed TWS's 'Angtal Challenge' and held events such as reenacting famous scenes from his works with fans or personally cooking and serving food.

Hi-Bye event lasting about 3 hours after the performance

Even after the performance ended, the meeting with fans continued. After the fan-meeting, which lasted about 2 hours and 30 minutes, Byun Woo-seok conducted a 'Hi-Bye event' for about 3 hours, personally seeing off the departing audience. Although there were many spectators, he communicated by making eye contact with each and every fan without showing signs of exhaustion.

Park Seul-gi, who served as the fan-meeting MC, revealed behind-the-scenes photos with Byun Woo-seok on her SNS. In the photos, considering the large height difference, Byun Woo-seok bent his waist deeply to match Park Seul-gi's eye level and responded with finger V-signs and flower poses.

Park Seul-gi mentioned Byun Woo-seok's meticulous consideration, saying, “Woo-seok-jjing, who matches every pose I change. It's like the chemistry we shared throughout the fan-meeting.” She also added, “Byun Woo-seok ↔ Mailbox ↔ Park Seul-gi three-cushion good job. It was truly enjoyable. Please get home safely in the rain.”

Having finished the Seoul performance, Byun Woo-seok will continue his fan-meeting tour in major Asian cities including Bangkok, Yokohama, Taipei, Singapore, Manila, Jakarta, and Hong Kong. He is currently focusing on filming the Netflix series 'Solo Leveling'.
