The Bangga-ne family turns its annual Jangseong, Jeollanam-do getaway into chili picking after learning their grandmother had worked alone.
The Bangga-ne family, who visits Jangseong, Jeollanam-do every summer to relax, had a slightly special summer this year. Instead of dipping their feet in cool valley water, they spent their time in chili fields spread out under the scorching sun. Due to the exceptionally high temperatures, the heat was so intense that even the valleys they usually enjoyed felt lukewarm.

Hot Chili Fields Instead of Valleys
The reason they began unplanned farm work was because of their grandmother's heart. Even after moving up to Seoul, the grandmother had been struggling alone picking chilies, and she had not mentioned the work beforehand because she wanted her grandchildren to rest comfortably when they visited. Upon learning of her consideration late, the Bangga-ne family naturally joined in the chili picking.
