Hwang Young-woong joins Prescribing Love OST, with no TV return
Hwang Young-woong is confirmed for the KBS 2TV weekend drama Prescribing Love OST, as producers say the release is separate from appearances.
Hwang Young-woong joins KBS weekend drama OST lineup
Singer Hwang Young-woong will participate as an OST vocalist for the KBS 2TV weekend drama 'Prescribing Love.' On the 10th, the drama's OST producer, Nyam Nyam Entertainment, and Hwang Young-woong's agency, Golden Voice, announced that he has joined this OST project and that the produced music releases will be released sequentially.

The production company explained that this decision follows a plan established since the early stages of the drama's production. They stated that they have been proceeding with the project by organizing a vocal lineup that includes several trot singers, including Hwang Young-woong, during the OST production stage prior to the broadcast, and after internal review, they made the final decision to release the music as originally planned.
Separate from drama appearances or broadcast activities
This OST participation does not lead to a drama appearance or separate broadcast activities for Hwang Young-woong. The production company added that they set the music release policy by comprehensively considering the musical composition and production process of the work.
Previously, on the 4th, during a regular fan meeting held at a hotel in Daegu, Hwang Young-woong made remarks to the effect of, "The OST recording is all finished, but the final contract has not been finalized." At the time, concerns about the possibility of the contract falling through were raised among fans, but as the production company maintained its original plan and confirmed the music release, the project is proceeding as scheduled.
Continuing fandom-based activities after hiatus
Hwang Young-woong built recognition by appearing on MBN's 'Burning Trotman' in 2023, but he stepped down from the program following allegations regarding school violence and his private life. At the time, Hwang Young-woong expressed his intention to apologize for past events. The 'Burning Trotman' side had previously acknowledged the fact of Hwang Young-woong's prior record of bodily injury.
Since then, while on hiatus, Hwang Young-woong has continued his activities through solo concerts and fan-meetings nationwide. In January this year, he attempted to clarify the allegations by releasing his high school student record, and his agency has stated that many of the allegations are claims for which the facts have not been confirmed.
