"Feeling Politely Rejected" Yoo Byung Jae's Lament

Yoo Byung Jae gets a curt wake-up call from Na Hong-jin over HOPE

Broadcaster Yoo Byung Jae shared a playful grievance, stating he was hurt by film director Na Hong-jin's cold reaction.

On August 7, Yoo Byung Jae uploaded a video to his YouTube channel titled 'Avoiding Naming the Title... (Please leave good titles in the comments).' In the video, Yoo Byung Jae defined himself as an 'avoidant person' and revealed that the target he most wants to avoid lately is director Na Hong-jin's comments.

Expected a Regram by Mimicking Jung Kook's Font

The incident began in relation to director Na Hong-jin's film 'HOPE.' As a fan who follows director Na's Instagram and keeps up with his works, Yoo Byung Jae recently took notice of the phrase 'HOPE is fun' left on an Instagram story by BTS's Jung Kook.

Using the exact same font used by Jung Kook, Yoo Byung Jae posted 'HOPE is fun' on director Na's account. It was an action filled with the expectation that director Na would regram (share) Jung Kook's post.

However, director Na did not regram Yoo Byung Jae's post. Yoo Byung Jae posted once more while waiting for a reaction, but what returned was a short and clear comment from director Na. Director Na left a comment saying, "I am trying to sleep, but people keep waking me up because of you, Byung Jae-ssi. What is your business?"

"He Answered in Block Letters" Yoo Byung Jae Expresses Disappointment

Yoo Byung Jae compared this situation to "feeling politely rejected." He joked that it felt as if a 'some' (flirtatious relationship) had been broken in a romantic relationship, wondering if others who had experienced the same thing might be suffering from PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder).

While those around him reacted that director Na had handled the situation with wit, Yoo Byung Jae did not agree. He expressed disappointment, saying director Na's response was as cold as if it were written in rigid block letters.

Yoo Byung Jae explained the situation at the time, saying, "People say director Na responded very wittily, but I don't think he did. It felt like he gave me an answer in block letters."
