EXO's Suho Shares Middle School Buzzcut Photo, Cyworld Fame and Old Nicknames

EXO's Suho revealed his internet nicknames from his school days and an anecdote about shaving his head in the 8th grade. Appearing on the YouTube channel 'Okikiㅇㅋㅋ' on the 1st, Suho spoke honestly about his childhood IDs, his popularity on Cyworld, and his behavior during his trainee days.

From 'Yunjungganjiwal' to 'Daechi-dong Signboard'

Suho revealed that the nickname he used while attending Yunjung Elementary School and Yunjung Middle School in Yeouido was "Yunjungganjiwal." The ID carried the meaning "The swag (ganji) of Yunjung speaks."

He added that after moving to Daechi-dong, he used the nickname "Daechi-dong Signboard." Fellow guest Gabee joked that Suho seemed to have been aware of his own looks since he was young.

Shaved Head in 8th Grade in Protest Against Hair Regulations

Suho also shared an anecdote about shaving his own head in the 8th grade to protest the school's strict hair regulations. He recalled asking his teacher at the time to let him grow his hair because he dreamed of becoming a celebrity, but receiving a response that he had to follow the school rules.

He said he went through with the buzzcut as an act of rebellion, stating, "I wanted to show that even if I cut my hair, I am still handsome." Suho even revealed a photo of himself with the buzzcut from that time.

While his features in the photo resembled his current appearance, Ji Ye-eun reacted honestly, saying, "This is different from the person I imagined," causing laughter on set. Ji Ye-eun commented on Suho's behavior, saying, "The idea is brazen, but it's the epitome of middle schooler syndrome."

Cyworld Popularity and EXO World Tour Schedule

Suho revealed that he also received attention on Cyworld during his school years. He explained that his popularity was so high that his Cyworld visitor count would spike whenever people visited the school during festival periods.

During his trainee days, he confessed to performing so-called 'performances' because he was conscious of how others saw him, such as playing soccer with his hands in his school uniform pants pockets during lunch or intentionally not wearing his gym clothes.

At the end of the broadcast, Suho replied that if his dark past were to disappear, it would be no different from his current self disappearing. He said, "Having a dark past allows me to gradually improve and change," noting that even the embarrassing moments of the past were part of the process that made him who he is today.

Meanwhile, EXO has been conducting their solo concert world tour since last April. In July, they will continue their performances in Manila, Philippines, Tokyo, Japan, Kaohsiung, Taiwan, and Singapore.
